The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Greater Washington, guided by Jewish values, provides community members with interest-free loans to help them overcome financial challenges with dignity. Since 1909, HFL has run on community support and through the reinvestment of loan repayments to ensure continuous funding. HFL lent more than $940,000 in 2024 and is growing year by year.
The Development/Marketing Associate is a part time, DC-metro based, remote position. It is 20 hours per week. The Development/Marketing Associate is responsible for marketing efforts and for the annual campaign. The Development/Marketing Associate will report to the Executive Director.
The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree and 2-4 years of experience in the fundraising or marketing field. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidate will have expertise with Microsoft and Google Suites. CRM experience is a plus. Salary will be $30,000-$35,000 per year; depending on experience.
Development
Assist in development and implementation of fundraising plan
Print and mail donor acknowledgement letters
Assist with annual event
Oversee solicitation calendar and schedule
Develop and mail/deploy fundraising mailing and emails
Write grants
Ongoing review of LYBNT lists and outreach to these donors.
Enter all new gifts into CRM
Manage CRM; ensure data remains clean and accurate
Marketing
Manage marketing plan and implementation
Create content and layout monthly email newsletter
Create marketing materials
Upkeep HFL website
Community Partnerships
Promote HFL to the DC metro community
coordinate with Executive Director in connecting and meeting with community leadership
Board
Prepare for and staff monthly meetings
Manage select board projects
Assign and manage board solicitations
