The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Greater Washington, guided by Jewish values, provides community members with interest-free loans to help them overcome financial challenges with dignity. Since 1909, HFLAGW has run on community support and through the reinvestment of loan repayments to ensure continuous funding. HFLAGW made 82 loans in 2020. As a 110-year-old "start up", HFLAGW is growing year by year and looking to expand the staff team to meet the increasing community need.
The Loan Administrator is a part time hourly position, currently working from home and will begin at 15 hours/week. The Loan Administrator is responsible for overseeing and processing all loans, with the guidance of the Executive Director. Job responsibilities will include interfacing with all applicants and reviewing each application for accuracy and relevance. The Loan Administrator will report to the Executive Director.
Review each application when submitted
Work with applicants to fill in missing information
Communicate with ED on any challenges or exceptions on application
Work with board members to conduct interviews
Draft loan documents
Coordinate loan closings with borrowers
Record monthly payments from all borrowers
Send payment reminder emails, as needed
Manage loans collections
Follow up on delinquent loan payments
Advise board members in following up on delayed repayments
Collect mail weekly from PO Box in Bethesda, MD
Deposit weekly checks
Monthly reconciliation between loan spreadsheet and QBO
Answer HFLAGW phone
