Loan Consolidation |
“When I was in my 20’s, I ran up a large credit card debt that has been a negative mark on my credit for over a decade. I deactivated the card years ago, but the minimum payments were over $300 due to the high interest rate. As a single parent with 2 small children, a mortgage and student loans I did not have the financial means to pay off the balance and was stuck paying the minimum just to keep my account out of debt collection."
"The loan from HFL paid off the credit card balance entirely! The monthly payments are automatically withdrawn from my account and I am now paying less than my previous minimum payments. I now know there is a light at the end of the tunnel! In two years, my HFL loan will be paid off and I will be free of the debt that I was carrying around for way too long!" |

COVID-19 Emergency Loan |
"In 2015, I took a loan from HFL to start my own business. At the end of last year, my business was thriving and my loan was paid off. But Covid hit us hard and I am grateful to Hebrew Free Loan for an emergency loan to make sure I can continue to make my mortgage payments and put food on the table for me and my son."

Fertility Loan |
"Rob Bernstein and Bryant Hutson learned about Hebrew Free Loan when Bernstein attended an event last year at the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center about family planning. He saw a brochure for the organization, and they decided to submit an application.
"The couple wants to pursue gestational surrogacy — transferring embryos created by in vitro fertilization to a surrogate — to start a family. Bernstein, 33, and Hutson, 32, have been considering the surrogacy option, among others, for about three years and have been saving up for the process, which can easily cost more than $100,000. "They researched other loans, like surrogacy planning loans. But they didn’t sign for any because of the interest rates — as high as 12 percent, they said. "So they applied for a Hebrew Free Loan, and were approved for $25,000." (Read more) |
